All new info will be posted there. I will definitely be taking my blogroll with me, I hope all of you will follow.

See you soon!

Heartburn

Okay, I paid for my decision last night.  I had the worst heartburn when I tried to go to bed, I thought I was going to be sick.  That will teach me to eat pizza rolls for dinner!

Today I am venturing out to get supplies to make healthy chili.  I think its going to be a couple more days before life is back to normal here.  There is still snow everywhere, and the sun is out today, but tonight everything will freeze over, which means I will probably be at home again tomorrow.  This week, I am going to try to reduce my calories even more…..look for another post later about this.  I have done some math and want to post how my calories are going to change as I lose more fat.

But for now, I am making my shopping list, scraping the ice off my car, and putting my snowboots on.  Later, readers!!

Stuck in the snow…

I am one of the lucky ones caught in the huge snow storm that went through the southeast.  I still have electricity, plenty of food, and stuff to keep me busy, so I am not complaining.  I had a wonderful walk in the snow with my dog this morning, it was quite a workout!  Tomorrow I am wearing my heart rate monitor to see how many calories I burn.

Tonight, I am having what *Leigh calls a “re-feed”.  Some people call it a “cheat day”.   Mostly because I am at home alone, there is snow everywhere, and I decided to have red wine and pizza rolls for dinner.  Tomorrow, I will be back on the wagon, but for tonight….wine and pizza rolls.

*(yes, Leigh, I know this isn’t technically a re feed since I am eating junk and drinking alcohol instead of eating healthy food.   just in case you read this. )

Weekly Weigh In… 183 lbs

Good day, blog readers!  I’m in a good mood.  Its snowing here, I am off work, and I am down .8 of a lb.  Life is good!

I am thinking of changing my blog to a different hosting site.  I like the format of Word Press, but I have been asked to be an affiliate for one of my favorite authors, and Word Press doesn’t allow adds.  Let me know what you think!  Most of you have blogs, have you had this experience?  I don’t want to be one of THOSE bloggers who are just out to make money.  However, if someone buys a particular book because they read about it from my blog, I think I should get something for that.  I look forward to input from my readers.

Have a great weekend!!!!

Spinning tonight

I am in the process of putting together tonight’s playlist for spinning.  I am very tired for the second day in a row, I’m hoping tonight’s class gives me some energy.  I have cut back on my exercise while working on my deficit, so I think that has something to do with my tiredness.  Also, cutting back on calories probably makes me tired as well.  Is anyone else tired out there?  Does dieting down make you tired?  Let me know…..

I knew I wasn’t crazy….

I know I talk a lot about Leigh Peele.  I am reading her book The Fatloss Troubleshoot and I listen to her podcasts.  I had never heard of her before….but one day I was on SparkPeople and saw a blog post about a guy named Tom Venuto.  I started doing some research and found out he had written a new book called The Body Fat Solution.  So, I bought it, and loved it!  In searching for Podcasts, I came across 2 with interviews with Tom.  One was the Fitcast, and one was Fat2Fit Radio.  I subscribed to them and also love them.  I like listening to podcasts when I drive and walk my dog.  iPods are wonderful things!

So, back to my long story.  I started listening to the Fitcast, and one of the regulars was a chick named Leigh Peele.  I started really liking what she had to say, so I decided to get her podcast….Ask Leigh.  In it, she talks extensively about her books, ebooks to be exact.  I haven’t purchased an ebook before…all PDF files.  But, this December, I took the plunge and got The Fatloss Troubleshoot….and it is what I am using to get rid of these 40 lbs of fat.

Leigh has another podcast, called “The Fatloss Troubleshooter Speaks” on Itunes.  It is an older podcast that she no longer updates, but has GREAT information.  Today I heard her say that one of the first things that happens to your body when you are in a deficit is that you get insomnia.  That happened to me!!!  It has gotten better, but it makes me feel like what I am doing is working if I am having the expected side effects.  So I guess I can say I am happy to have insomnia…..as long as it doesn’t come back….and as long as I am still losing fat.

Whew, that was a long post.  Check out Leigh’s website in my blogroll, and also check out her podcasts for FREE on Itunes.  She has a lot of good information.

Weigh In

This morning, I weighed in at 183.9, slightly down from last week.  That is a relief, yesterday I weighed myself and I was up about half a pound.  I made sure to drink a lot of water yesterday since it is that TOM.  I am about 10% there!!!

Today and tomorrow, I am taking time off from hard core exercise.  I will walk my dog, but that’s it.  My body is tired!!!!

Finally….sleep!

Last night I was able to go to sleep at a decent hour and didn’t wake up until this morning.   Part of it was I ate a little later, and a little more….so I wasn’t hungry when I went to bed.  However, I can’t do that everyday and still lose weight, so I have to figure something else out.  I went over my calories by about 300….yikes!  Tonight I teach Body Pump and Spinning, tomorrow I am resting.  I hope to catch up on more sleep this weekend.  Thanks to all my blog readers for all the positive comments!

The other goals…

All day I have been thinking of other things I want to accomplish this year.  I have seen other people do “40 by 40” lists, including 40 goals they want to accomplish by age 40.  Since I only have a year, I am not going to attempt 40 different goals (just 40 lbs).  But, there are other things I want to do, so here is the short list…

  1. lose 40 lbs (you already knew that one)
  2. save enough money to take a birthday cruise with my girlfriends
  3. become a Zumba instructor
  4. do pushups on my toes
  5. finish a half marathon in under 3 hours
  6. paint my bathroom
  7. walk my dog at least 10 min. everyday

Now you may chuckle at number 6, but I have lived in this house for almost 2 years, and I have said I was going to paint the bathroom when I moved in.  Why 7?  That is just what it came to.  I may add more if I think of some….but these are the big ones.  My dog needs to lose about 10 lbs, so the last one is for him as well as me.  My ultimate goal is to take him for a 30 min run, but I know that is unlikely to happen daily, so we will shoot for the 10 min walk right now.

So, here are my goals.  Now that I have them in writing, they are real and not just in my head.  That is the first step to making them happen!
